Here’s an example of how to improve your memory.
The simple theory behind the process is that hypnosis is a mental state or set of attitudes usually induced by a procedure known as a hypnotic induction, which is commonly composed of a series of preliminary instructions and suggestions. Hypnotic suggestions may be delivered by a hypnotherapist in the presence of the subject (“hetero-suggestion”), or may be self-administered (“self-suggestion”, “autosuggestion” or self-hypnosis).
Here’s some suggestions, that go in better when you are relaxed (how deeply will you take them in as you read and explore them?):
Relax. When you are ready, gently and kindly begin to relax yourself. You could start with letting out three longer breaths and as you release each longer breath, say to yourself slowly and kindly the word ‘relax’ and relaxing your body. And with each long breath, relax a bit more. Now, gently notice the feeling of letting yourself relax. Continue doing this for a little while. Notice how each breath helps you feel more and more at ease.
Release any tension. Allow any tension in your jaw to relax away. Allow any tension in your neck, in your shoulders, arms and legs to simply melt away, leaving you space and time to relax more and more.
Imagine a library. Then, you might imagine you are stood outside a beautiful library building that is just right for you. Notice how the building looks and where it is. Visualize the doors (what are they made of?) inviting you to go in. This library is the library of your mind. Everything you have ever known or experienced is in this library. There are books, places, movies, objects and people. And, just like your mind, everything you have known or experienced is in there. Whenever you can’t remember something the memory is still there, but it just sometimes takes longer to find it among the wonderful arrays of information and knowledge you have.
Begin to study the books and things in the library. If you are studying or have a particular topic of interest, then locate the book or item or person that contains all your knowledge on this subject – taking all the time you need. You may have a deeper explore of the knowledge there if you wish. Feel safe in the knowledge that whenever you absorb any information on this topic it will be added to your library. You will more and more easily be able to find the information in your library. And more and more, you will easily be able to recall the information – especially as you always give yourself plenty of time to remember it. Now, place this book or item or person back where they were found. If you are not sure where, your librarian can help you. And, maybe take a wonder around and explore other parts of your library. Knowing that information and experiences will always be added automatically whenever you learn or experience something.
Recall old memories. Then notice that as a result of your mind being more organized and calm, you are able to recall information or experiences more and more easily. Also notice that your mind feels Calmer and More Relaxed. You find things more and more simply and easily. You’ll feel happier and more confident. Your mind is more organized and relaxed, and so you are more confident with a more organized and more relaxed mind.
Hypnosis and self-hypnosis can work wonders in wonderful ways. This is just one example of many ways to improve memory.
